Overview
As part of the Spring 2024 Eco-Collab: Making Meaning initiative, the ECSC Eco-Social is a campus-wide social event led by the Cable Makerspace and Design Initiative at Dartmouth (DIAD) which will support the Makerspace’s Sustainable Fashion Throwdown by co-hosting a clothing swap, climate-focused viewings, a wide variety of games, mindful spaces, and vegan/vegetarian food and beverages from local restaurants. As the culminating event, this social brings people together across campus to activate the ECSC building by promoting dialogue, breaking silos, and enhancing community bonds around the dynamic, sustainability-oriented work around the college. By collaborating with various campus offices, students, and groups; we aim to curate a space of joy, awareness, and friendliness so that conversations around sustainability can flow easily. As a chance to celebrate human connections at the intersections of sustainability, fashion, making, mindfulness, and play; the core goal of the ECSC Eco-Social is to recognize and celebrate the work of students with help from the Sustainability Office, Student Wellness Center, and Hopkins Center for the Art. Our sponsors include the Leslie Center for Humanities and Centers Forum. Our collaborating student groups include House of Lewan, Dartmouth Chess Club, Creative Gaming Club, the Free Market, and Dartmouth Undergraduate Crocheting and Knitting Society (DUCKS). Shoutout DJ TFam.
